I met with this beautiful family in early December and it was such a busy shoot. Mama did amazing what with juggling feeding her baby son and spending time with her girls. They had lots of fun clambering over Dad and having cuddles with him – when they weren’t watching the local ducks that is!
I always ask clients if they would like me to photograph them feeding, especially because it can mean so many different things to a woman. From a sense of accomplishment and pride, to those feelings that this will be their last baby so let’s capture it all. It’s one of my favourite things to do but I’m also aware that it’s not everyones cup of tea, which is why I’m never offended if the answer is “no”.
At first Julia answered this but after a moments thought, she said “go on then!”. These images are now some of my favourite from this shoot – and to date! There is something in the way that the family is gathered around her. Simply waiting, supporting and cuddling. It’s a part of everyday life for them at the moment, and capturing the norm is what I’m all about.
Thank you so much for inviting me to do this for you, Julia and co., I had a really lovely time in your company.
Until next time,
